Symbol cxcl3 Gene ID 2921
IF 0.9% Link Number 1
Full Name C-X-C motif chemokine ligand 3
Aliases CINC-2b,GRO3,GROg,MIP-2b,MIP2B,SCYB3
Summary

This antimicrobial gene encodes a member of the CXC subfamily of chemokines. The encoded protein is a secreted growth factor that signals through the G-protein coupled receptor, CXC receptor 2. This protein plays a role in inflammation and as a chemoattractant for neutrophils. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2014]

CXCL3 Positively Regulates Adipogenic Differentiation. CXCL3 treatment of 3T3-L1 cells significantly induced the phosphorylation of ERK and JNK. Furthermore, CXCL3-induced C/EBPβ and δ expression was suppressed by both ERK and JNK-specific inhibitors. Furthermore, Chromatin immunoprecipitation assay revealed functional binding of PPARγ2 within cxcl3 promoter region.
